Dr. Russo’s Wellness & Aesthetics was created from a deeply personal place—one shaped by real health challenges, transformative healing, and a commitment to offering the kind of care they themselves once needed.

Over a decade ago, Dr. Carla Russo, MD began facing significant health struggles. Even as a board-certified physician, she felt unseen, unheard, and trapped in a system focused more on sick care than wellness. This experience profoundly shifted her perspective and ultimately inspired her to build something different—care that empowers, restores, and supports whole-person health.

Her husband and practice manager, Jason Almquist, also navigated his own health challenges. Together, they discovered that both their personal relationship and their professional partnership thrive when each of them is at their strongest—physically, mentally, and emotionally. That belief anchors the culture of their practice today.

Dr Carla Russo, MD

With nearly 20 years of experience as a board-certified OB/GYN, Dr. Russo has cared for thousands of patients through some of the most intimate and pivotal stages of their lives. But it was her own health journey that reshaped the trajectory of her career.

After years of feeling dismissed within the traditional medical system—even as a physician—she sought a better way. This led her to pursue additional training in functional and preventative care, ultimately becoming double board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine.

Jason Almquist
Practice Manager - Patient Experience Director
Jason’s path to wellness leadership is as dynamic as it is meaningful.​
​
He began his career as a manager of service departments in the automotive industry, where he honed his strengths in client care, operations, and communication. For a decade, he then stepped into one of the most important roles of his life: managing the household and raising their children while Dr. Russo built a highly successful medical career.​
​
Later, he launched and ran his own general contracting business, earning a reputation for integrity and professionalism. But Jason’s unique warmth comes from something deeper:
his lifelong background in music and theater, which gave him a natural gift for presence, connection, and making people feel welcomed.
These experiences blend into his work today, where he:
